ENCTrack awarded HME Maritime Innovation Award

We are very pleased and proud to announce that the jury of the Maritime Awards Gala has awarded the ENCTrack service from Datema the HME Maritime Innovation Award 2009. Datema received this prestigious award during the 4th Maritime Awards Gala in De Doelen in Rotterdam on the 28th of October 2009. This recognition strongly supports us in our believe that ENCTrack is finally going to become the new standard in e-navigation. Despite the ongoing debate between the IC-ENC and Primar we see there is growing support from both mariners and shipowners. Once we bundle forces, the hydrographic community will be under increased pressure to finally come to a solution. More than 800 people from the top of the maritime industry, government, politics and press attended the award ceremony. Dutch Parliament member Mr. Charlie Aptroot presented the awards.

The jury of the HME Maritime Innovation Award motivated the decision to award Datema by saying: "the ENCTrack service of Datema Delfzijl is a bold and valuable innovation. It provides a serious reduction of administrative burden and creates an increased safety on board. On top the product offers a great cost savings for shipowners."

The Maritime Awards Gala is organised by Holland Shipbuilding Association, KNVTS, HISWA and the Royal Dutch Association of Shipowners (KVNR). Other nominees for the HME Maritime Innovation Award 2009 included IHC Merwede Parts & Services, Promac BV, VSTEP. The Maritime Gala Awards also awarded the following other maritime awards and subsequent winners:

KNVTS Ship of the Year Award – Dona Angela Maria T. from Damen Shipyards

VNSI Carpenter Award – Mr. Albert de Krijger

HISWA Excellence Award – Mr. Frans Heessen from Heessen Yachts

KVNR Shipping Award – Smit International with the E3 Tug
